From Strasbourg to Forever
Franziska and Hubert are the kinds of people who immediately felt like long-time friends upon meeting for the first time. We met up a little before dawn at the Trocadero. They asked us if we’ve seen the Eiffel Tower and right as we said, “no,” Andy and I turned our heads and were hit with the best view of it. It came as such a surprise that it gave me butterflies, and I immediately knew our session was off to a perfect start.
The streets of Paris was the perfect backdrop for Franziska and Hubert’s engagement since they call it “their first nest together.”
Their love story began in Strasbourg, right on the border of France (his home country) and Germany (her home country). After two years of long distance, countless conversations, and a shared love for games, hiking, and slow walks through new cities, Hubert proposed during a European road trip on July 27, 2024.
Paris Engagement Filmed in Super8
Cinematic and Authentic Photography for Destination Engagements
Their engagement session felt like watching a romantic movie unfolding followed by cute little tours of the avenues of Paris, where Hubert gave us fun facts and bits of memories he had while growing up in the city. Photographed in 35mm film to capture the nostalgic aura of Paris and digital photos for that cinematic touch, we ran around town with a documentary approach to authentically capture the quality time, soft touches in between, and words of love they shared in the spaces where they’ve begun to build their lives together.
What’s More Romantic than Paris in the Rain?
Just like any destination elopement or engagement, the weather forecast could play games with you. In our case, the rain decided to show up without notice. But somehow it made dancing in Parisian streets extra dreamy. Naturally we captured Franziska and Hubert wandering around Rue de l’Universite and the narrow alleyways, and eventually ending their session with a kiss by Le Recrutement. I swear I’ve never been more thrilled to be rained on during a session (I mean it)! It was truly such a gift to be able to capture them having fun just being with each other regardless of the weather. It was a bittersweet feeling saying goodbye to them. After a bunch of hugs and well wishes, we (of course) had to grab espressos and pastries before heading back to our b&b.
